Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim, helps me to look deep inside myself. Here is one of those dives.
It is easy to say, thank you, and I really appreciate something. I have done this thousands of times. But is there a deeper meaning to this. If you do this only once when it happens, and you forget about it? How thankful were you really?
I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak about me. I have said thank you many times in my life to many people. At the time when I said it, I felt very sincere. And if I go back in time and think about it, I will be thankful again.
But that is the point, I never or rarely really go back in time to review, and so I really don't experience and relive those feelings of appreciation and gratitude.
I have had some a few people in my life, such as Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim, that have been my teachers or mentors in life. These people have helped me take the right paths in life. And to be honest, many times I have taken a wrong path in life, and needed help getting back on the right track.
These can be major inflection points in your life. They were for me. The difference between being homeless or successful. The difference between being happy or sad, the difference in a happy relationship, or a damaging relationship. We all have major inflections points in our life. What school did we go to? What friends do we socialize with? What relationships did we choose. What major decisons have we made. All these had and will have a major effect on our lives.
Most of us, would pay anything, to change from a bad relationship to a good one. Most people desire success over failure. So when we are miserable, we tend to think about this things, and we can get hateful and negative about the world.
On the other side, when things are going good, we tend to take things for granted. We tend to think we somehow deserved it, or somehow we were just lucky. But this is exactly why Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim's teaching is so powerful. She would say to never take gifts for-granted. Review your past and review these major inflection points in your life. Review people that have helped you, and always remain humble. Don't take these things for granted, or you can also lose them very quickly.
If you were lucky or fortunate enough to have taken a good path, play out in your mind the opposite set of choices. What if you had made a bad choice. Where would you be today? Would your success fade away? Would you be in a terrible divorce? Would you be in jail or worse? Would you be alive? Do you see how bad it could have been? If you truly can see this, your appreciation and gratitude to the people in your life that made a positive difference will really stand out. I know they do for me.
Now that I am aware of this topic on a deeper level, I can't be thankful enough. The few people that really made a difference in my life, those that reached out to me and were very patient and helpful to me, and I owe them so much. I don't know how to ever repay them. First, I really want to stay in this state of "thankfulness" and humbleness. I didn't get here by myself, and I need God's help, and my teachers and coaches help. Next I will continue to improve, and I feel that I can repay them, both thanking them again, but more importantly by continuing to do good, and helping others as they helped me.

Death and Taxes
There are a few things in life that we can not avoid, and a common saying in the US, is that everyone, someday, will have to confront "Death and Taxes".
Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim teaches us that we all have to face 4 things in our life:
1. Birth
2. Aging
3. Sickness
4. Death
As a younger student, I only thought about the first 3. The first one, I didn't think much about, because I was already here. And "Aging" - when I was younger I felt like I would live forever.
And "Sickness" - I figured that I would eat good and train regularly and stay healthy. So through arrogance, and some ignorance, I thought to myself, "don't worry, I got this".
But as I get older, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim continues to remind me about the limitation in our life. I am almost 60 now, and so how many more healthy years left do I have? Years, where I can move freely, drive, cook and go to the bathroom by myself. How long can I live without the help of others? And financially too? Is it really worth living if you can't take care of yourself, and/ or if you are in a hospital bed hooked up to alot of hoses. I don't want to live that way.
So whether I like it or not, I better start confronting the truth. As painful as it is to think about these things, I must face reality and the truth. I must admit, it is very painful and sad, and sometimes it just doesn't make sense. Why are we born, and work so hard to accomplish and build things, only to die and wither away? These are deep pondering questions.
Okay, I understand. In this world, I will be leaving soon, and saying goodbye to this world and the people around me. So how can I leave something special to this world and the people around me? It is time to think about others, and not be selfish. This is something I have to think about more. How can I leave the special training behind that Great Grandmaster has taught me all these years? These are thoughts for me, but for all of you. Lets think about it before it is too late.
I know that Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim thinks about this deeply, and really wants to dedicate her life to teaching and helping others. I admire that greatly. So it is time for me to start thinking that way.
On the spiritual side, it is also important to have faith and believe in something. I strongly believe in God and Jesus, and our lives after death. I believe that how we live our lives now, will determine where and how we are treated later. So live good, and do good to others. At least try. Many times I have tried and not everyone takes it with a smile. But at least inside, you can slept at night knowing that you really tried.
Thank you Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim for guiding me and teaching me all these years. These teaching of the ancient martial arts must be passed on to the next generation.

Tae Yun Kim: Life is time, time is life.
I have been very fortunate to be Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim's student and instructor. Even after many years I am still learning from her. As we age, she emphasizes our health, and also our death. I have never really wanted to think about death. It feels like such a depressing subject. But it is unselfish, practical, and fruitful to realize that our time is limited, and prepare for our eventual passing.
Just based on aging, our time is limited. We all have limit, especially to the life we have where we can be healthy, take care of ourselves and live an active life. So, do I have 10 years, or 20 years, or 30 years? We all have a limit. We are all dying. But this has caused me to really dig deep, and try to deal with the emotion and consequences before anything happens. I have found, there are a few major things to consider.
1. Quality vs. Quantity - For me, it is very important the quality of my time. I don't want to be sitting at home doing nothing, or laid up sick, or unable to move. I want to be healthy, full of energy and optimism, and my life full of purpose, meaning, and love. I want to use my time wisely, and at the end of every day be able to say, "this was a good day".
2. Your family and loved ones - Don't be selfish. Take the time to plan out what will happen when you pass. Be considerate of all those around you.
2. Plan out the next 10 years of your life - If you truly realize how short life is, plan out the rest of your life. I used to think about setting 10 and 20 year goals. Now I have to set only 3 to 5 year goals. It makes me more focused on my goals, and gives me more courage to achieve my goals. It allows me to be bolder, because time is limited. Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim told me that life is time, and time is life. Don't throw it away, it is all you have.
3. Build your legacy - Think about what you will leave behind. Did you help people? Did you make a difference? How do you want people to remember you? When you look back on your own life, how do you want to remember yourself?
4. Spirituality - The closer I get to death, the more I seek a deeper relationship with God. There is so much beauty here in this world, and I believe we are here for a greater purpose. I believe in spirituality, and that our spirit will live on. We must prepare ourselves for this next spiritual trip.

Is Science Finally Catching Up?
Science is finally
catching up to the Energy teachings of Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim. Is light a particle or wave? Scientists continue to debate this subject
and can’t fully understand this, but progress and advancement continues.
Now there are theories
that it can be either, depending upon the surrounding environment. That is crazy to think about. And yet, Dr. Kim always said – “Your thoughtscreate your universe”, and “You are the center of your own universe”. What if through our thoughts we can controlthe energy around us, and it helps to even determine the state of a light
particle.
I have been a student of
Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s teachings for many years, and I love the debate
and the possibilities that this has opened up.
Dr. Tae Yun Kim has emphasized for years that your thoughts create your reality ( see Seven Steps to Inner Power:
http://www.taeyunkim.com/about/author/index.php ).
This says that we are
all co-creaters, and that what we think, and what we project through our
attitudes and behaviors do change our surroundings. Just think about the reality of that. We can change our reality. We can change our stars.
But many people are
doubters, and say, that doesn’t really work.
You can’t really control your environment and you either get lucky or
not. What happens in the world is
completely random, and your ability to affect your future is very limited.
I completely disagree
with that, because I have seen the results many times.
If I have a limited or
negative view, and if I let the energy and my surroundings control me and take
me down, then I live in a negative space, and many negative things happen. My whole world seems down, and I can drop
into a deep depression.
But if I live with an
optimistic view, if I take control of my energy and attitudes, and generate
happy feelings, I can radiate, and I can create a more peaceful, creative and
happy environment. I can wake up every
day with a positive mental attitude. Things
around me will be brighter and better.
So my thoughts and
attitudes do make a difference.
Lets take it to the
extreme, what if we could actually create our afterlife, by our actions and how
we think about it? If we believe nothing
exists, we may go into nothingness. If
we believe and live in a world of lying, anger, and deceit could we possibly be
creating our own hell? And yet if we
believe in God, and his grace, and in a beautiful afterlife, and if we believe
in a heavenly place where can be with our family and friends, could we be creating
our future?
I chose to be positive
and optimistic and to live a good clean life, helping others, with purpose and
meaning. What do you choose?
Summary: There are many lessons here from Dr. Tae Yun Kim.
1. Your thoughts become your reality. You are a Co-creater. -> Your thoughts do matter. These are seeds that manifest themselves into
reality. Watch your thoughts. Through training you can clear your mind and
make yourself calmer and more peaceful.
2. You are the center of the universe. You see the universe through you, and
therefore you create the world around you.
Be positive and create a beautiful world for yourself. Have faith in God, and our future. The act of having faith in God, may be the
key. Remember if you don’t believe, that
also creates your reality.
3.
Never give up. This is true in the physical world, but also
in our spiritual world. A situation may
seem impossible, but with creative energy and the spirit of “He Can Do, She Can
Do, Why Not Me!”, anything can be accomplished.

4. As instructors, teach and show your students how
to grow and learn and improve in everything they do. Teach them and motivate them to be positive
and optimistic about their training and the world around them. Teach them to be good to others, and only use
the art in self-defense. Teach them that
their thoughts and actions do matter, and help them to develop a positive
mental attitude.
Thank you. God Bless you.

Thanks To Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim
and the Jung SuWon Academy of Martial Arts.
The Champagne Technique:
He Can Do, She Can Do,
Why Not Me!” is Dr. Kim’s motto, and was
inspired from the bible. God teaches us
to always have faith and to have courage.
We have to apply that to our lives.
A few years back,
Chairman Tae Yun Kim was helping a troubled company, called CompanyX. CompanyX really needed cash and decided to
finance the company using Factoring. It
tried to get money through normal conventional lending, like banks, but at the
time they were too new, and didn’t have the appropriate track record. On the surface, this new method of financing,
Factoring, looked very attractive. It was
based on AR invoicing. So every time the
company sent out an invoice, they could get a short term loan for up to 80% of
the value of the invoice.
This gave the company
the cash it needed to survive and grow. It
provided quick cash, and that was the life blood of any company. So the company signed up and started using
the Factoring money.
But, about 1 year later,
they would find out, that the details of the deal were important. The Factoring company advertised a very low
interest rate, like 1.5%. But that rate
was charged on the initial loan, and every 15 days.
So the company moved
along happily doing business. Cash was
flowing and things seemed better than ever.
But about a year or so later, cash started to become tight again. Something didn’t seem right. So they were driven to drive Sales
harder. But as hard as they drove,
things were getting tighter and tighter.
Things were so good. Now they
were tight again, and getting tighter and tighter. How did things get so bad again? The stress was mounting.
In the background,
unknown to CompanyX, their debt to the Factoring Company kept growing. Finally the company called in Dr. Tae Yun Kim
to help. She recommended a financial
expert who was called in to help. They
calculated that the annual percentage rate they were paying on the borrowed
money was about 44%. What? Impossible?
But True. Crazy. How in today’s society is this even
legal? The going rate for money was only
10% and they were paying 44%. It was no
wonder why things were so bad. This was
in the original deal, but they didn’t pay attention. At the time, it didn’t seem important. They were only looking for short term relief
and gain. But now they had to pay the
price.
CompanyX went to the
Factoring Company and wanted to get out.
Of course it was no problem, if they paid everything off and followed
the termination clauses in the contract.
But at the time, all the company wanted was cash and would do anything
for it. They never really read the
contract, especially the termination agreement.
But the contract said, that when it came time to terminate, that they
needed 90 day notice and they had to pay an average of the last 3 months
finance charges as a “get out fee”.
Also, on top of that, since the accounting and the reporting hadn’t been
perfect, the Factoring Company had the right to charge an additional $400,000
penalty, before they could terminate.
This seemed like highway robbery.
CompanyX thought to
themselves. We have been paying them
tremendous interest all this time, surely if we go to the CEO, they will cut us
some slack and let us out of this contract.
Surely he will help us. So they
went to the CEO of the Factoring Company, and he explained that they had a
business to run too, and they were going to follow the contract. Sorry, but pay up, or lose your
business. Crazy, no sympathy, no help,
nothing. That is the cold business
world. Everything seemed helpless.
At this point, Dr. Kim
advised them to use the Champagne Technique.
In brief, they were advised to take a big bottle of Champagne over to
the Factoring company, and have a celebration with the Factoring company CEO
and team, and negotiate under better conditions and energy.
But the The CEO of
CompanyX never thought this would work.
The Factoring Company CEO already said he wouldn’t do it. The CEO of CompanyX felt trapped, and thought
this was going to blow up and that lawyers and law suits would be
involved. It was cost millions, and
where was that going to come from? The stress
continued to build. This situation was
close to exploding.
But they followed
through as Dr. Kim advised, and they took ice cream and cake and celebrated the
good relationship, and thanked the Factoring Company team for helping them get
to the next level. During that time, Dr.
Kim discussed off – business topics, like how their kids were doing in the
martial arts, and personal things.
Dr. Kim created the
energy and conditions for creative solutions.
The contract was pulled out and all the terms were agreed to over the
champagne celebration, and the $400,000 penalty was waived. Halleluah!!!
It worked. With the help of God, a
lot of praying, Dr. Kim changed the energy of the situation, and helped create a
win win solution for everyone. It was
awesomeness to the 10th degree.
Dr. Tae Yun Kim saved
this company, and the company went on to be profitable and sustainable. Yahoo!!
1. If you look for shortcuts to get ahead, make
sure to look into the details. For
example, you may go to a school where you get your blackbelt sooner, but what
are you sacrificing for the short term gain.
Are you really gaining anything?
2. Never give up.
The situation seemed impossible, but with creative energy and the spirit
of “He Can Do, She Can Do, Why Not Me!”, anything can be accomplished.

Remember to always help
others. Self-defense usually refers to
personal self-defense, but this is a case where Chairman Kim reached out to
help a company struggling in business.
This business effected thousands of peoples live. Thank you Dr. Kim for all your love and wisdom. Thank you for teaching us to be positive in
life and help others.
Dr. Tae Yun Kim, teaches these types of lessons to many people through her Jung Suwon Academy, her books like Seven Steps to Inner Power. Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim is her formal title, and she makes a positive difference in millions of people's lives. Lets all do our part and learn and help others.
Thank you. God Bless you. :)

Core Values & Purpose:
Core
Values and Purpose:
What are your core values? Did you ever think about that?
In the past, I know I haven't. But this is a new year,
and I have been in strategy meetings.
In order to think about strategy, you must think about your
core values and purpose first.
We do this for businesses every year, but what about us
personally?
Here are some lines to help define Core Values:
• You do not create or set core values. You
discover core values.
• You do not deduce it by looking outside. You
understand it by looking inside.
• Ideology has to be authentic. You cannot fake it.
• Discovering core values is not an intellectual exercise.
• Do not ask, what core values should we hold?
• Ask, what core values do we truly hold.
I think about Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim's life experiences,
and who she is at the core.
She motivates me and inspires me. I
have watched her face so many obstacles.
I remember she entrusted her whole company to a loyal student. It seemed to go good for awhile, but the
student’s ego grew, and finally decided that he wanted more. He wanted to take over the business and throw
Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim out of the business.
What a terrible thing. She gave
him such an opportunity, and yet he tried to stab her in the back. He ran negative internet campaigns, and stole
technology, and opened a competing business.
Then he conspired with another company to buy Dr. Tae Yun Kim out. He even went to her and told her the following:
We have more money than
you. We can buy your suppliers. We can buy your distributors. We can buy your employees. Give up while you can.
It was enough to scare
anyone. But Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim
said, “no way, I would rather go die first”. Go ahead, take your best shot.
Dr. Tae Yun Kim fought for
the next few years, and saved her company, and came out on top. It shows her core spirit. To fight for what is right. To have a positive “Can Do” spirit. To have the indomitable spirit of overcoming –
He Can Do, She Can Do, Why Not Me!!!.
I will forever be inspired. thank you very much.
